I need a cover for my 2003 1700CC Sea Pro, the one I had on for the last ten years finally gave out. Bought one from West Marine a few weeks ago that is useless, too narrow, too long, just a shapeless baggy mess. Anyone have any ideas on a ready made cover so I don't have to spend $700 on a custom made one? The one I had for ten years was good but I cannot find where I bought it or who made it.

Take your old one to an upholstery shop and have them sew you a new one up out of sunbrella.

I bought one for my 170CC from T-topless. It is Sunbrella and a top quality product. Not cheap but the only one I've had that held up more than a year. I highly recommend it.

Thank you fellows, the guys on here are always a lot of help. I am still looking into boat cover options. Let me ask your thoughts on something unrelated to the boat cover. Same boat and the steering turns freely when the boat is just idling in neutral or going at very low rpms but while running at anything above that the steering wheel is very hard to turn and i have to trim the motor up just right to be able to turn left and right, and it is still very hard to turn. I have the "no feedback" steering system. What could be going on?

I bit the bullet and ordered one from T-topless, I'll let you know how it works out, thanks again.

I'd start by making sure you have grease there and also check where the cable meets the engine for one.

Thanks Capt. Woody, I did order the Sunbrella {$750} and I have high hopes that it is going to be a good one. As to the stiff steering, I have greased the fittings on the tilt tube and cleaned and greased the rod that comes out of the end of the steering cable to no avail. The motor turns very freely at idle and at low rpms but at cruising speed I have to trim the motor up a bit to get it to turn at all, and even then, it is very stiff. I have to pretty much get the boat headed in the direction I want to go at low rpms and then just make minor adjustments at cruise speed.

if your steering is cable and not hydraulic, cables are rusted somewhere between motor and helm. almost impossile to lubricate. if you have to make the adjustments you mentioned i hope i dont encounter you on the water your steering is unpredicable.
