Hi, New to the board. I am seriously considering the purchase of a 2004 Sea Pro 195 FS with a 115hp Yamaha 4 stroke. This would be my first power boat and have some questions.
1) I've been searching the forum and found a lot of posts regarding support for parts and Maintenance. Looks like US Marine took over the support and you may be able to get some parts from great lakes, but those posts were pretty old. So is this an "orphan boat" where I'm likely going to have issues finding parts and repair work? The boat looks clean and in decent shape but parts availability and support are always a concern.
2) The cushions are shot and in need of replacement. Is there a reasonable source of cushions for the 195 FS or do I need to find an auto upholstery shop and hope they can recreate something? Part of the issue is there are now bow cushions so getting measurements may require me making a template which could be fun.
Thanks for any advice or input you can offer.

As far as getting parts, most can be sourced from your local boat shop, west marine, Amazon, or elsewhere online. Most of the hardware and parts other than the hull are made by a separate manufacturer (i.e. Attwood, Perko, Taylor Made, etc.) and are widely available. Sea Pro made the hull and fitted it out with components made by other companies, just like most other boat builders do. As far as support, this forum is pretty much it. Lots of knowledgeable folks on here that are willing to help and lots of info that you can search. Think of some questions you may have, search the forum, and you'll see what I mean.
Cushions: Unless you get lucky and find some for sale on here or maybe eBay or something, you'll need to get an upholstery shop to make them for you. Either way, they won't be cheap. Search this forum for "cushion" and see what you turn up.

If you like the boat, pull the trigger. You could have the same issues/concerns with a brand new one. Welcome to the forum.

If anyone has had luck with an upholstery shop that is familiar with the Sea Pro 195 FS I'd love to get their contact info.

I have a follow up question that hopefully someone can answer about the cushions. I did find some marine upholstery shops that can do the work but they asked what the backing was for the bolsters that surround the interior. Is it wood, PVC or other synthetic product? I don't have access to the boat now so can't check

Even if the original backing is wood I'd go with pvc anyway, it'll last much longer.

I agree but the upholster is trying to figure out if the original is wood and might be dry rotted or if its PVC so they can give a more accurate estimate.

I don't know but I'd be surprised if you found ANY wood in an 04 model.
