I keep my boat stored at a local yard outside but under cover. I've done this for years without issue (other than some wasps from time to time). But this time I brought it home to service and clean to get ready for season and found a bunch of muddy stains on several of the seating areas. After a bit of review, I believe this is a feline that is using my boat as a nighttime sleeping area, and I mean every night. So, other than putting my cat hating dog leashed to the CC, what suggestions do you have for keeping cats out of my boat while it's at the yard? It could also be a coon, but I think it's a cat.

They say moth balls repel everything from snakes to elephants. Must be true. I threw a few in my barn a few years ago and I haven't seen the first elephant.

Put cat food in your neighbors boat.

The more I think about it, the more I think it's a raccoon. Might just put a conibear on each side of the motor at the transom and see what happens.

I thought Phil's solution was far more clever.
WTF is a conibear?

I thought Phil's solution was far more clever. WTF is a conibear? Are you sure you're a cajun? It's a wire animal trap. I've got a couple I used to catch beaver and otters when they were eating all the fish in my pond. When they go through the trap and hit a little trip wire, it smashes em flat. Or I guess it could be the act of selling beach property in Arizona to a bear. Con a bear

No kidding? You have a picture? I had one once to catch varmints digging up my yard. All I caught was my neighbor’s cat. Never saw that cat again after I released him.
If you know of a critter trap that works, let me know. As it is, we cocktail for awhile then load up and hunt at night. Fun, not productive, and risk breaking ankle.

Here's what they look like. I have about 4 at my hunt camp that I used to trap some beavers that were causing a problem. Apparently I'm not a good trapper. I ended up shooting them in the face with 12 gauge hevi shot.
