I have a 2000 Johnson 90 that needs a new cowling gasket. This item is discontinued but I believe there are automotive gaskets that may work. If anyone has information on which one may work will work, please let me know. Thanks to all!

Is that one of the Johnsons made by Suzuki? If not, have you tried eBay?

I have tried eBay but no luck. Did find a listing but out of stock and an extreme price. I’m currently looking at automotive trunk trim. I read somewhere that it would work but it comes in so many configurations that I was hoping someone had been successful with one and could provide the right one. I really appreciate your suggestion.

Found a post on The Hull Truth where someone recommended Hildebrand Marine in Coldwater MI for hard to find motor parts. Sounds like they have a huge salvage yard. It may be worth giving them a call. Note that I have no affiliation and have never done business with them myself so i don't know if they can help or not. Here's their site: outboardjunkyard.com/Thta got me thinking and I just searched for "marine salvage yard in NC" and Google found a few. Search for whatever state you live in and see what comes up. Good luck.
