Well, I was cleaning up the boat and laid my rod & reels on the deck. While walking around I stepped on my St. Croix Mojo Bass rod and destroyed two of the eyes completely. This rod cost me $150.00 and I was extremely upset with myself. Maybe I can fix it, looks easy on the internet? I looked at the rod and the eyes were put on with such a smooth finish that I didn't want to fool with it my self knowing my work would be very much inferior. I got online and sent a repair request to St. Croix, took the required pictures of the damage, model # and serial #. Two days later I get an email that says that my request has been received and that the warranty dept. wanted to talk with me and provided me with their 800 number. So I called and find that the damage was covered under their warranty, even though I told them that I stepped on the rod. Still covered, but my rod was out of warranty.
Next they asked if I wanted to upgrade? I say sure, what do you have? This model rod is no longer in production, but we can send out the new version of the same style, length, and action rod for $70.00 total. No tax, no shipping. So I have the new upgrade on its way. I was very surprised on how this has turned out, I'm going to love my St. Croix even more.

Good luck. Nothing ever breaks until the day the warranty expires.
