Hi all, I’m a second year owner of a 2006 sea pro 206 CC. I was interested in having a port side swim platform with a 2- step telescopic ladder installed. However, we had the boat looked at and the guy said it wasn’t likely to be possible due to the (port and starboard) live wells being in the way restricting access to the interior of the boat for the proper mounting hardware. However, I have seen other boats of the same model with the swim platform properly installed ? Is there something he/ I am missing or does this project require more than I anticipated? (Looking to avoid as much cutting as possible) thanks in advanced.

Hi and welcome aboard, the guy you spoke to has no idea what he's talking about unfortunately. There are many ways to achieve this using all kinds of fasteners, In fact there is a thread on here somewhere where a member did it.
Mine (on a 2007 220CC, same as yours just a little longer) is attached with 4 screws (biggest that will fit through bracket holes) and some 3M 5200 marine adhesive. It has never fallen off or come loose, even with some bigger people on it.
If you have trim tabs you will need to notch out the step to accommodate those. I'll try to find some pictures of mine.

Thanks for the reply!! Two questions for you: 1)What swim platform do you have ? 2)How did you get behind the transom and the life well to secure the fasteners? Our biggest problem is finding a way to access the back of the transom (due to the live wellls) |

I don't recall the make of the platform,Sorry. I didn't need to get access behind the transom as I just screwed it on from the outside, it has been on the for about 8 years now. If you wish to gain access you could (and mine has these) cut an access hole in the side of the splash well and then cover them with a round access plate.

Oops 1 more thing. lol. I see you have the 2 rail option rather than 1. Does your outboard still have full clearance? No rubbing or anything when you have it fully turned ? Thanks again. |
