Trim Up not working - cant figure it out!

Hoping someone can help me here.



Trim up is not working from either the controls or the switch on the motor. Trim down works fine. I cannot figure it out.


It was working intermittently if I continued to press the switch, but I have nothing now. 


I believe I have ruled out the following:


Trim switch - bypassed the trim switch at the connector (pin from red to blue / then green) - down works / up does not

Relays - changes multiple relays in different configurations, same deal, down is fine / up nothing (no click).

Trim motor - Jumped at the up relay connector (87 to 30) and the up works


I wiggled all the wires coming from the bottom of the relay assembly to no avail. I cant really pull the wires and check connections because there is some kind of gooey waterproof stuff on there that is glopped on the bottom.



I checked voltage at the relay connector at have 12v at 87 & 12v at 86 (when I press the switch)



I don't believe there are any fuses involved.



Something is causing the relay to not get power or open when I press the switch. I'm thinking maybe it has to be something to do with the relay ground? I'm not sure how to test this.



Any advise is appreciated.

If you think it's the ground , disconnect it and with some wire connect it directly to the battery. See what you have then.

It was the trim limit switch. Gone bad, I guess. Bypassed it and back in action.

Awesome, thanks for the update. Wouldn't have thought to check that to be honest.
