I have a Yamaha SX200TXRB.
High pressure Fuel Pump To test if the high pressure fuel pump is getting voltage, is it simply a matter of putting the meter leads on the + and- terminals on the top of the pump and seeing if there is 12v when the ignition switch is turned on? If you see 12v then the pump is good, no voltage means pump is bad or a different component is preventing the pump from getting power. Is that right?
Ignition Switch How do you use a meter to see if there is 12v coming into the switch? How do you test to see if 12v is being sent to the engine when the switch is turned on? I pulled my switch out and could not see any exposed leads to put the meter on. Things looked sealed up.
Thanks, I’m trying to improve my severely lacking debug skills.

I copied this from another forum, it's explained clearly. There should always be battery power to the pump when the key is on. Normal.
You will see 12 volts on the ground side terminal when the pump is not running. Normal.
With the key on and the pump being provided with battery power, ground the pump and see if it runs.
On the ignition switch wiring there should be a separate bullet connector to be used for "ignition on power" to power other devices, this a good place to check you have power coming out of the switch.
