So my aerator pump on the boat wasn't working right and the connector for the hose was broke. With that said I want to replace it. I cut the wires and spun it off like some from here said to do. I guess I wasn't expecting what I got, lol. Is this what was supposed to come off? What is the black piece? It has an outlet also, is that for adding a spray down kit? I can find a new aerator pump easy but can't seem to find this black piece and the one I have is cracked and dry rotted.

Poe, the pump itself worked fine. It's the aerator housing that needs replacement as I couldn't attach the hose to it due to the broken neck.
I can assure you that this project will be easy compared to some of the others I tackled lol.
If I can find this black piece it will be as simple as attaching the aerator and screwing it back down.

I seperated the aerator and black piece. If I can't find a replacement I can re-use the black piece. I will just have to seal off the extra outlet. Would be nice to find replacement though. Attachments:

Nluady, that aerator pump never worked for you right? Motor spins but no water? That black fitting at the bottom that has a plug in it is the pump intake normally hooked to a thru hull fitting picking up sea water and the white broken fitting at the top hooked to hose to your live well. Looks like someone plugged it off because they disconnected it from plumbing.

Oh I see now, didn't see fitting on the bottom. You need to buy a whole new pump! The black and white parts are welded together and made to stay in boat, they made it so you could replace the pump motor without replacing the housing.

Looks like a RULE pump. You can google pump number but probably gonna get a different replacement pump model. Parts probably not available or if they are will cost as much as a whole new unit. Not an expensive purchase for new pump assembly. Easy job.

AC, I never really got to test it as the neck on the aerator was broke so I couldn't hook the hoses up. I believe the thing is plumbed through the bottom of the boat and the water is picked up through there. Then it goes up the pipe where there is an on/off valve. Above the valve is where this was screwed in. The white piece in the picture is where the aerator/black bottom piece came off. It is a mess down there and I really can't reach anything so the pics suck.

I know you and Poe mentioned just replacing pump but the housing is what's broke... That is why I need the whole new aerator pump and housing. Previous owner broke the neck of the housing. With that broke I can't connect the hoses. Attachments:

Not a hard job, what's the part number on that pump motor? Rule right? Should be a 3/4" npt fitting on ballcock in boat. You'll just get a new one that has same specs and just screw it back on. I can't really tell what kind of fitting is on top of that valve in boat but should be a tapered pipe thread.

Where can I get the black piece incase I want to add wash down kit later? Do you know? I don't see a part number on the aerator.

No matter now... Think I can go with the one in the link above! Was able to remove the piece in the pictures. Looks like I just need to buy the new aerator, screw her in, and hook up the electrical. Attachments:

Yes let the old one go, it is not wash down ready, the plugged port is for a hose connection instead of sea cock.

sorry to chime in so late here.
That whole thing WAS supposed to come off as it did. Someone mentioned only replacing the motor, which you can find however you cannot find those housings anymore.
The fitting on the black piece is for a raw water wash down. The sea cock runs the livewell pump and raw water pump if you have both. You should be able to get the live well pump that has both of them on there, i see them on the shelves of stores and have bought them myself to fix mine and others boats.

Thanks Yolo! I ordered the new stuff yesterday. In the future I might actually install a wash down. Caught some Blues over the weekend and they turned the boat into a bloody mess!
