Like the title says, I'm new to this forum as well as the boat ownership world. I picked up a 2016 228 Bay last week and couldn't be more excited. Here are some photos, provided I can upload it correctly! Only thing I've added is a 10' Power Pole Blade.

I do not know what she weighs. Per their website, 2325 is the dry weight without motor. So, if I were to guess... Probably on the other side of 3k lbs with motor/gear?

Gorgeous. Glad to see your initial foray into boating has been done with style. Keep all of us jealous older Sea Pro owners informed as to its performance. Might have to break open the piggy bank one day.

Thank you everyone for the kind remarks. I have only gotten to take it out twice so far... it's been back at the dealership for about a week now getting several kinks and issues worked out, as well as installing my GPS. I hope to take it out again this coming weekend, provided I get it back in time.
As far as the Engine height goes, being it's my first boat, I am still learning about everything. At some point, I plan to get a hydraulic jack plate on there and figure out what height suits the boat best. I just ordered a boat cover for it, which hurt my feelings a little with their pricing, but its to be expected.
Since the last photos, a half swim platform has been added on the port side also.

Where are you located mightbstock? If you don't mind, when you get the new boat cover, post a picture and shoot me an IM and tell me about the cover. My boat is an old one but it's laid out like yours with a T-top and power pole and I'd be interested in knowing if the cover covers those. I keep it in a boat shed but it still gets some dirt and leaves in it between fishing trips.

Does this mean that the boat has spent almost all it's time in the shop for repair?

That is correct. Its been in there since last Monday. Some issues with a compartment not draining water, and the hydraulic steering is extremely tight... Takes two hands to turn the steering wheel. Not sure if there is air in the system or the pump isn't working properly or what.
Also, where the t-top makes contact with the console on the Port side, its separated about 3/8 of an inch. So I had them look at that.
Also, the digital gauge for the engine wasn't reading all the parameters it was supposed to, and this being the second gauge they have used for the Suzuki, there may be an issue somewhere also.
For the good part of it, they are installing my GPS/ and the half swim platform.. so I'm sure that took them some time.
That being said, They told me I would have the boat back by tomorrow. I'm on shift today, and unable to pick it up.. so hopefully I can enjoy the water tomorrow morning!

As a new boater you're learning the first rule of boating.... There's ALWAYS something to add, fix, replace or repair.. apparently even with brand new boats. BOAT = Bring On Another Thousand.
