Made it. Thanks for the concerns. I still don't have power and this is the first time I've been able to get online. No cell service either. I did get a text from Phil just before everything went out but was unable to answer until now.. We were fortunate... Lost parts of the roof to the barn, green house, storage shed, a large gash in my equipment cover, and the siding on the boat shed tore loose but no damage at all to house, car, truck or boat. There are probably 15 to 20 huge trees down around the pond and in the pastures. It looks like WW III. The place looks nothing like it used to look. It will take months to clean up the downed trees but I can do that a little at a time. Two big pine trees fell on the neighbor's house and took out the primary power line so it will probably be a while before the power is restored. The generator is working well but HOT WATER would be a blessing. Took a bunch of pictures but haven't had time to upload any. Try to get some posted soon. Rick aka Juan

Good, heck make that great news, ya had us worried for awhile. Stuff can be replaced, you on the other hand, as "Heffe de Lauro", are irreplaceable. GT

Glad you're okay, more or less. I don't guess you got my text about back-feeding your electrical panel to get power to your water heater. Oh well.
Just watch out for snakes. These storms get them all messed up and instead of being shy they come out and mosey about trying to appreciate the new reality. If you have trees down and brush everywhere, there's going to be some serpents.
Keep your chain sharp. Just like a kitchen knife, a dull chain is far more dangerous than a sharp one.
Good luck and work at your own pace. Those trees aren't going anywhere.

Thanks again guys. I didn't get your text Crabs. I wish I had because hot water was the one thing we missed the most while the power was out. We were without cell service for three days so I'm sure I missed a few emails and texts during that time. I had the generator hooked up so that it powered most of the house but it's only a 5,000 watt generator and not big enough to run the hot water heater or central air. All's good now with the exception of all the downed trees. I've cut and burned a few already but have a loooong way to go. Non ethanol gas and chain oil are impossible to find around here. Instead of fishing supplies I had to order new chains, chain oil and roofing nails from Amazon.

What a mess. Like said, take your time and watch for snakes. They are moving with that cooler weather.
