That sucks. They won't get rid of the root balls here. Hope you don't have the same issue. I bet the chickens had one hell of a ride! They got most of the trees removed from the roads around here yesterday and I was able to get out and drive a few miles from the house.. I just thought I had it bad. There are several houses that are almost split in two or with trees laying on top, power poles broken in half and transformers and power lines laying on the ground. There are out of town power company and tree service companies working round the clock but it's still going to take time. I don't have any trees on the house and I've got power back on so I can wait until they get around to me.

After Hugo I went 6 months with out a gen. set.(St. Thomas USVI) I put two blue barrels on the roof and plumbed with a hose to a spigot for water pressure. Once a week a buddy came by with a gen. and fired up the pump to fill the barrels. Hope things come back quick for you Juan.

Skeeter, you're more of a man than me. Or maybe your woman is more of a woman than mine. After a month without power she was telling the national guard posted at the the electric company to recognize her face because they didn't want to see her come back if we didn't have power immediately. And we had a generator.
Juan, you're not living on MREs are you? If you don't have to survive on MREs you'll be okay. Though you are a tough guy and have probably had more than your share of them.

LOL. I've eaten K-rations, C-rations, LURPS, and MREs. (retired Army) and I kinda like some of the MREs. I had cases of them a few years ago after a hurricane hit central Florida. My sister was working for Emergency Management at the time and ended up with a truck load of spare MREs. I supplied everyone I know with them for a couple of years until they ran out.. Didn't need them this time... power back on after only four days but there are folks in this area that won't get it back for at least a month.
