Boat has been at shop for 3 months and in my back yard for another 3.5 months. Took the boat out Saturday, cranked fine then the vibrations started. Felt like it was missing a cylinder then it would straighten up for a quick second then back to missing. Filled it up right before the new lower unit replacement so I’m thinking the gas went bad and it needs a new filter. At least it would crank up and run the whole day. Made the best of it and fished the flats instead of going to the reefs. Back to fishing out of the little G3 , Hopefully Juan will give me his fishing spots on the river! 😳

Where were you fishing Framer? I was in Wakulla last weekend and it was tough fishing in the flats. I think the cold front slowed things down.

We were headed to the Rotary reef but motor was acting up. Ended up in front of piney island just west of shell point near the bird rack.

Sounds like water or trash in the fuel to me.. I think you're right...it needs new filters. I'd change the fuel/water separator filter and any other fuel filters in line. You were fishing Apalachee bay? There are bird racks and shell points all over Florida. If ya try the Chattahoochee river on the G3, I'll gladly share a few spots. Hell, I'll take ya to them if and when the water clears a little. If the rain ever lets up I plan to hit Carrabelle because the river is so muddy right now you can walk across it.

I had to get up at 630 and search for gas for my work van. Didn’t hear about the shortage till last night. The guys at Rock Landing Marina are changing those this week and cleaning it out. Not sure if they are bird racks , just 2-3 poles sticking out of the water. I’ll gladly take you up on going to the river and fishing when it clears up. Since my shoulder surgery I haven’t been able to work everyday. I hired 3 more guys so I’m not needed as much.

Well I had a repeat performance in Wakulla this weekend. Cold in the morning and windy. Fished hard Friday and Saturday and caught a really nice flounder and a half limit of specks. also got in the ladyfish and pufferfish. Water temp was 69, a degree cooler than last weekend.

Sounds like a fun weekend to me.! 👍 I spent mine mowing grass but now it's done and I can fish the rest of the week. It's 0400 and I'm about to head to the river this morning and then the gulf on Wednesday. Being old and retired has it's benefits. 😆

We have property down on Mashes Sands and the wind was kicking pretty good. There were more than a few boats fishing at the end of our community pier. Didn’t see any of them catch anything , I didn’t either (from the pier). Juan , let us know what you caught.

The river wasn't running and the only thing biting were largemouths. I caught 5 with the largest about 4 lbs. Missed two really big ones though. ☹ Quit when the wind picked up and the googans showed up.

I did not know, so I looked it up.
Urban Dictionary: Googan Search domain urbandictionary.comhttps://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Googan A googan is the person wearing saltlife or any other trendy sports clothing that is completely clueless in the ways of fishing. They will use tactics that are completely backwards. The googan will come to the pier and use bobbers and a weight. A googan will post fish on social media and claim a size that is beyond a hyperbole. A googan will overreact when catching any sized fish, ever!!
Nice to know....

Just heard from the marina , not the fuel. He changed the filters and took it out , still skipping. Said he would put the computer on it tomorrow. Hoping it’s just the plugs. On a good note , just got back from Jamaica and no need to tan on the boat this weekend. 😂 Swam in the luminous lagoon (only 3 in the world) and that was pretty damn cool. I’m sure Juan caught enough fish for all of us this weekend.

Sweet! Sounds like you had a great trip. The closest I've been to Jamaica is when someone stole my credit card numbers and charged two plane tickets to Jamaica! Sorry to hear the problem wasn't the fuel... it sure sounds like a fuel problem but since it's not the fuel, my next guess would be the injectors need cleaning. Boats are a PITA at times... I tried fishing the river again but the water wasn't running and the fish weren't biting so I just rode around. I put over 40 miles on the little skiff before deciding to quit, go home, and hard wire my trolling motor to get the cables off of the deck... I should have left well enough alone because after cutting the power wires, the ground wire fell behind the gunnel and I had to cut a new access hole in one of the rod lockers to get to it, and while cutting that hole the bit came out of the Dremel tool and put two small holes in the hull that I had to repair. What should have been maybe a three hour job turned into a two day job with a lot of cussing!

Oh sh##! Sounds like something I would do. I can build a house but can’t wire a speaker without screwing it up. Hopefully I’ll hear something today , if not I’ll take the little g3 to a river somewhere.

Speaking of card fraud, I raised my credit limit a few years ago to purchase my motor so I could get cash back. This year, someone stole the numbers and charged 20k of silver to it in California. I had them send me a new card and I had to update it in my Amazon account to buy something and that was the only time I used it. The next day that joker bought another 20k of silver with my new card number. I had to get a new card again, this time I changed my Amazon password before I inputted the new card and haven't had an issue since. I'm sure glad it was their money and not mine!

That sux , I’m surprised mine hasn’t been jacked. On a brighter note , they found 2 bad spark plugs on #2 and #4 cylinders. Supposedly boat is good to go for Saturday. They don’t know why on those cylinders but I’m not sure I want to know anyway , at least until end of season. 😳

Ran perfectly today , only wish the seas were better. Caught a huge sailcat in the channel , Thing had a head 8” wide. Say what you want but Sailcats (gaftops) taste better than reds or trout. It’s all in the skinning.
