Someone asked me if i was soldering or crimping the wire to the lugs. Well i decided to crimp them instead of soldering. Gave me an opportunity to pick a new tool for my arsenal!!!! lol This is the first crimp. Notice the ears on the side I then turn it in the crimping die and flatten out the ears. It looks better and feels more like a solid connection! Then on with some heat shrink and done! This crimper came in handy. Over all for $45 i think it did good overall.

Today i didn't get as much done as i wanted to. I had to run into work for a little while. Damn work always getting in the way of my priorities!!!!! Well while i was at work, i got an email about the stereo i ordered. I guess it is on backorder. I guess they couldn't find what they showed in stock. No worries. I stopped by West Marine on my way home and did the price match thing again and got it for $80 off their asking price. So it worked out in the end. I did cancel my first order by the way, called them up to make sure it was cancelled. this was a dry fit to see how it looked! While i was at WM i went ahead and picked up my throttle and shift cable. Yes i did the price match thing again. They are going to hate me!!!!! I got my binnacle installed today that i received yesterday. Had to make a plate for it to sit on in my dash. The old Johnson binnacle was alot bigger and so was the hole. So i just came up with something real quick for the summer. And then this fall i will take it back out and fiberglass and gelcoat and make the right size hole. Give me a chance to work on my fiberglassing skills before this has to be done. I have an old console from an Aquasport in my garage i can practice on!

I was able to get more work done on my wiring. As of now i would say i am about 90-95% done with wiring. Tomorrow i will install throttle and shift cable. Work on the main wiring harness and shorten if need be and run wiring harness to engine. I got the battery cables to engine ran today. Alot easier to run since there is hardly any wire in the pvc wire tube!!

Thanks Gnrphil. Got a ways to go for it to look like yours! But she is coming along. Just this boat has been neglected in the past. Been trying to give it some loving every chance I get! Definitely going to need a good scrubbing when I am done!

Damn... how many splices you need in a wire? This was to the bulge pump. 3 splices in a matter of a few inches. I cut and spliced it 1 time with a heat shrink butt connector. Hoping this was done afterwards and not at factory!

All three ground wires? I'll do that when I need a ground wire and there's one within reach.

Juan it wasn’t a ground wire. It was from the float switch for the bulge. I am thinking they had 2 bulge pump on here. Don’t know why! All the times I have taken the boy out there has been absolutely zero water in the bilge

I also tackled the ignition wiring, the safety lanyard wiring and the wiring harness for everything on the boat. Now that harness is OMG....long as heck! So rather than cut and splice all those wires to shorten it up. I decided to remove all the black tape it had on it and separate them into bundles. The bilge pump, livewell and anchor light are together. 2 courtesy lights are together and bow light is by itself. I then wrapped all the wire going back in black tape from one end to the other. I am then going to pull all the excess back to the stern area and tie wrap it together and secure it where the battery tray was at. The excess from courtesy lights and bow lights will be pulled closer to the lights and secured there. So all i will have under the console is enough to make the connections and then all secured up with tie wraps and buttons. It was a little time consuming and that wire harness but will be easier in the future to pull any wires in the wiring tube. I still have my hydraulic lines, fish finder line and temp gauge wire to run thru it. But will be easier now that is is all black taped and nothing to get caught on! i also put the console storage box back in. The key switch is sideways till i do fiberglass work this fall and put it in right. Used it to cover up old hole from radio! I also decided to add some backing material behind the dash gauge panel. It will serve to purposes. One is to secure the screws. Screw holes for the dash panel seem to get bigger over time. This will hold it in place and not enlarge the hole in fiberglass and it will also serve as a place for me to secure a button and tie wrap to. This will secure any wires that need to be run. So they will not be hanging but will be secured.

Well i was able to get about 1.5 - 2 hours in today on the boat. Had to go to my work boat to fire up the engines and turn on all electronics and pumps and hydraulics to make sure everything was good before the season started!!! Anyway i picked up some new circuit breaker on my way back from work to my house. Yes i did the price match at WM again. Got them for $3.69 each. I got them in and did a dry run of everything on to make sure my wiring was good and that everything worked. So far so good! I then went ahead and installed the gauge panel onto the console itself. I used plastic washers behind the screws holding it in place. As not to mess up new paint job. Actually i need to do some touching up on it! I also was able to run the wires for my new Simard GO7 XSE. Should be able to zip up that wiring for it tomorrow. I sure wish i was about 2 feet tall so i could stand inside that console. I haven't been on my back this much......well never mind!!!! LOL
