Gnrphil I actually do have an order in with them. Just waiting for them to come in.
I did quite a bit today but haven’t posted as I forgot to take some pics. But I will get some pics over the weekend. I ran the wiring for the Simarad only to discover that the hole on my console for the transducer wire is too small. Wasn’t trying to make any more holes or bigger holes!!! But I got those in, ran the wire for the water temp sensor for the engine, and put a busbar in the bulge for all the aft grounds. Also zip tied 90 percent of the wiring behind dash. Talk about being sore from trying to fit in that small space! Only major thing left is to run hydraulic lines and cylinder and then all downhill from there!!! I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel. And damn I can’t believe how much wire splicing I have found on this project!!!

It's looking really good, I'm glad I can get in my console to mess with wiring as I would struggle trying to do what you do. I still need to make a harness for the back lighting on my switches, I'll post up how it turns out when done.

Thanks Gnr. Yeah it has been a struggle for me to do what I have been doing under the console. But it needed it. Told the wife next Sea Pro we buy will be bigger and a console big enough to sit in and do any work if needed. This 51 year old back is feeling the struggle of going in and out of that console this morning!!! But like I said it needed it. I have 3-4 months off of work during the winter. So it was a good time to do it. Figure I saved some Big bucks by doing it myself! The last major purchase I need is seats. I hate the seats I have now! But I need to finish up, I have 17 days before I go back to work for a few months!!

Yeah this seat has the back rest goes forward and back. Will be replacing my two seats on pedestals with it. It will bolt right up. The wife even approves of it...so I scored!!!

How are you going to reach that battery switch after you fill the hole in the console?

I got quite a bit done today. Perfect weather for being inside! I made the hole a little bigger for the wiring for the Simard unit. I got about 95% of the wiring zip tied in console. I have a few more wires to finish up. The horn wire and the wires for the led lights I installed in the console. Just in case I need some lighting to work on things. I finished up the ground wiring and busbar in the bilge. I added some pvc board and secured it with 5200. This is the bundle of wires from all the ignition and trim/neutral safety switch wiring. This is the bundle of wires from all the gauges and the biggest part of the bundle is the radio wiring. This is the hot wire and ground wire for the gauges. Also the Simrad wires in there all zip tied to pvc 5200 to console.. This the main pvc board with all the battery selector switch, maxi fuses, acr and circuit breaker. The fuse block will be used for future expansion for now I will connect led lights to it.

How are you going to reach that battery switch after you fill the hole in the console? That’s a good question. I have been thinking about that. For now I will just have to reach in there. Might just put a hole in my storage compartment with a cover that will be easy to remove when I need to turn it off/on. I might have to do some reconfiguring if it is to much of a pain!!! I know I will be making a few of the cables longer over the summer.

The last thing I did today was test mount the Hydraulic Steering Cylinder. Got it mounted just need to get the right size bolt to mount it to my engine. If you look at this picture. I was hoping it was going to mount in the first hole where you see the bolt sticking up at. I removed that extension piece they had on there and tried it. But it wouldn’t work there. The bolt hole behind that will work just have to get the right bolt!

Well i got the Baystar hydraulic steering mounted. First i had to go and find a tap to clean out the back bolt hole threads in the steering arm. Finding an M10 x1.00 tap isn't easy. Luckily we had on at work. So i went and picked it up. Cleaned out the threads and the bolt screwed right in. So i got it mounted and the hydraulic lines ran. Other than that, not much else for today. Lost quite a bit of time finding that tap. And then going to work and BS'ing with our maintenance crew took a big chunk of my time. But i am on the downhill side of things! Still racking my brain about the battery switch. I guess i didn't plan this too well. Good thing is i am not a BIG guy so it shouldn't be a problem reaching in and turning it on/off. I will think about it after being on the boat a few times this summer!

That's a good one Freezer...actually made enough off the sale to pay for the engine I am putting on plus the hydraulic steering and still have a few $$$$ left over!

Well I got the hydraulic steering installed today. Got fluid in and did the initial bleeding of the lines. Letting in sit for a while so I can get more air bubbles out. How much fluid did your system take? I added some support to the back of the helm. That’s what the grey pieces are.

This is how rigged up my container to keep feeding it fluid. It worked really well. Didn’t need another person to help me bleed the lines! I just opened up both bleeder lines with tubes going into a container till I saw no more air bubbles. Then closed them up and moved the system starboard to port about 20 times. Will bleed some more in a couple of hours.
