Well I have plenty to report, but not tonight. Today is the day I snapped both mooring lines, tore my engine to hell and chipped the hull and beached her. At least I wasn't in it. At least I finally got my money back from sea tow... I'll post pics tomorrow. Say it ain't so! Looking forward to this story

First I'll report on the 4 blade prop. It was smoother than the 3 blade, I had to use significantly less tabs to get the same stern lift, Hole shot was similar. The big negative was the reduction in fuel economy at any speed. I think this is related to the stern lift, and that if I pushed my tabs down enough to have similar lift, I'd get similar results, but I typically got 0.5 mpg better with the 3 blade at anything 20 mph or greater. While the boat ran better with the 4 blade, I just couldn't overlook the loss of fuel economy and I switched back to my trusty 3 blade by Wednesday.

I hate trailering my boat, but maybe it's safer on dry land given your and Phil's recent experiences. I hope it's not that bad.

Very similar. I'm sorry but it will be a few days, I'm slammed after being off of work for a week.

I saw the pics on Facebook. You did a great job on beaching her, like my dad always said "don't half-ass it. If you're going to do it do it right."

OK here is the scene of the crime... Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted Seatow said they usually didn't cover it, but they weren't all that busy. He told me it would have cost $1050 had I not been covered.. I bit my tongue and didn't tell him if it weren't covered not only would I not have renewed my membership, but I would have found somebody that would have pulled me out for 2 cases of beer.

Wow. OK what's the story behind the damage? From the first pic, I'd guess you anchored too shallow and the tide went out but the second picture cancels that guess.

Had it tied up to a pylon on the bow and the dock on the stern. Very bad storm came in about midnight out of the north and snapped the bow line first, then the 3-4' waves ran the stern into the dock a dozen or so times before snapping the stern line and sending her to the beach. Storm surge went away and there she sat. Not very often storms come out of the north. Usually it's pretty protected there.

Well, $8,600 and she'll be good as new... in 4-6 weeks. I will say State Farm did a wonderful job in paying the claim hassle free. I lambasted them when they tried to get out of fixing my wife's car last time, so I'll praise them this time! So with me Phil and Juan all out of commission, I hope all our other members can pick up the slack!

Well you beat me be $400, mine was $8200. They say trouble comes in three's so I'm hoping everyone else will be OK. Mine "should" be ready end of this week.

I'm hoping you both beat me by at least $6,000. They probably won't even get started on mine until the end of this month. 013

Me too but even if I'm lucky and that's all I need, they told me they'll also install a speedy sleeve on the crank and the labor alone was going to a minimum of $1,200. $110. an hour and that's the cheapest shop I found. Wish I made $110 an hour when I was working.

The shop called and told me what I already knew...a gear in the balancer assembly had broken and the shavings stopped up the oil pump screen. At a minimum I'll need a new balancer assembly, oil pump w/ screen and a speedy sleeve at a cost of $2,500. BUT they are worried about the bearings since there was no oil pressure... Won't know if they're okay or not until they pull the powerhead... and if they're damaged it's going to need a new powerhead at $9,700. I'm not going that route.. A new Suzuki 200 is looking better and better.

Once I get mine back, If you want to meet on Eufaula you are welcome to check it out. I know we are on significantly different hulls but it never hurts to hear one run before you buy.
