Thanks freezer, I hope I don't have to but I may actually take you up on that. I should know more soon if it's cost effective to fix the old Yammie or not. Another positive side of going with a Suzuki is there's a really good dealer within 40 miles of my house.

I've gotta say those zukes are quiet, you really can't tell there running at idle.

I should be back in action tomorrow!!! That's good news! I'm jealous... called the marina this morning and they're rigging it now but it will be another week before mine is ready Not a big deal since I have jury duty next week any way so couldn't use it if I had it.

How long does it take to rig an outboard??? can't imagine it taking a week.

I should be back in action tomorrow!!! Awesome, mine still isn't completely done, I had some use of it but having the tilt tube bushings done is becoming a problem.

How long does it take to rig an outboard??? can't imagine it taking a week. I don't know how long it takes but considering they remove the seat to give them more work area and they have all that wiring to contend with, I'm guessing it will take a good full day's work or maybe even two. I was originally told it should be ready in two weeks... now it's three but no biggie since I've got jury duty next week. I thought they had a motor on the way but now I'm told it ships out of Alpharetta, GA today so hopefully by the time it gets to Saint Marks, they'll have the rigging done and all they'll have to do is mount it and break it in.

Ahh ok, didn't realize the motor wasn't there yet.

I don't know why they have a warehouse in Alphavegas. It's just not known for its industrial capacity as for warehousing and distribution. It must be an an office then warehouse facility. I may need to find that location and see about getting some spare parts from the docks. BTW are they going to break the engine in for you some as well like they did freezers? BTW since they have that cooler seat out, tell them to leave it off and put a leaning post in with that new jackplate. I could be wrong about it being in Alpharetta. The day I dropped it off he told me there was a truck coming from Alpharetta and he thought he might have dibs on two 150s that were on the truck..(apparently he didn't) Yesterday he told me it was being shipped today out of Hotlanta.. so I'm not sure where it's coming from and really don't care as long as it gets there in time and in one piece. Yes, they are going to break it in... I was told they run it up and down the river for 3 hours. No way I'm leaving the cooler seat out!! I may be the only one left but I still prefer the cooler seat over a leaning post. I've decided the Sea Pro doesn't need a jack plate. I bought a jack plate to put on the bass boat but I've decided not to use it since moving the trolling motor batteries forward solved the "slow to get on plane" problem. I'll be putting the jack plate up for sale on Craigslist.

Well I just got back home after picking up my boat and took it out trolling today for Spanish mackerel. Caught a pile of them, but It seems they didn't fix everything wrong with my motor. It is louder than it was before the beating, so I think there might be a crack or a leak in the exhaust. I'm going to see if I can find it tomorrow.

I'm guessing they had to replace the lower cowling... does it have a gasket around the exhaust port they might not have installed?

I decided to investigate and took apart the cowling. There is a small bolt on part that they missed that has something to do with the exhaust at idle. It's obviously broken and they probably overlooked it.

New part came in and I had it swapped out in less than 10 minutes. Works and sounds like it should now. Took it out for the eclipse run and it was like new again.

Changed the spark plugs this week. My 200 hr kit also came with an impeller. I'm debating on doing it now or seeing if I can get more out of the current one. Sure is a lot of work.

I'm in the same boat (no pun intended). I'm about 40 hours from my 200 hour maintenance. I ordered and got the maintenance kit a few months ago and thought about changing everything 40 hours early since the weather won't let me fish but according to the water pressure gauge, the impeller is still pumping like a new one so I'm not changing the impeller any time soon unless the water pressure drops. I did check and clean the plugs and removed the salt from all the anodes. I'll change the block and lower unit oil and install the new anodes and plugs after another 40 hours but the impeller is staying in the box.

I bet I didn't get the water pressure gauge option. I'll have to check. But it's peeing pretty good. Of course now that I've put it out in public, if I don't change it and end up having to do it in the middle of fishing season, I'll be pretty embarassed.

Ok, so I ended up changing the impeller as well as the zincs, gear oil, engine oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and plugs. The impeller was not as big of a job as I expected. I'd rate it at 30% as difficult as the old Johnson impeller. lining up the shift shaft was a breeze. It was also nice that I had the gear oil out and the prop off when I did it so it wasn't nearly as heavy.

That's good to hear! I don't dread doing mine quite so much now.
